Reports: Inter Miami CF closing in on transfer swoop for Celtic winger Lewis Morgan

Inter Miami CF are set to reel in Scottish winger Lewis Morgan via a transfer deal with Celtic FC, reports the BBC and other British outlets.

The 23-year-old Scotland international has found playing time relatively limited at the Glasgow giants since arriving from St. Mirren at the start of 2018, and spent time on loan at Sunderland last year.

Now he’s reportedly the subject of a “six-figure” transfer fee as Miami seek to fill out their roster ahead of their inaugural match, a visit to LAFC on the opening weekend of the 2020 MLS season. Morgan is said to have departed Celtic’s winter training camp in Dubai in order to complete the move.

“We have significant international players still to sign," Miami sporting director Paul McDonough told MLSsoccer.com Thursday during the SuperDraft. "We have an international winger that we’ve got agreed, we’re doing personal terms with. We have a DP striker that we’ve agreed [a fee] with the club, trying to see if we can get personal terms done. We have midfielders we’re trying to secure and one or two center backs.”

Morgan could be the winger McDonough is speaking about.
