TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

One of the Swedish Allsvenskan's top goalkeepers could soon be making a move to North America to join an unnamed MLS side, reports Fotboll Direkt, an outlet in that country.

Peter Abrahamsson has guarded the nets for BK Hacken since 2014, in that time earning a reputation as one of his country's top 'keepers and earning a handful of national-team call-ups. The report says his displays have an MLS club ready to submit a transfer bid, and with his contract reportedly set to run out at year's end, that could pose some tough decisions for Hacken.

The Gothenburg-based club qualified for the early stages of the UEFA Europa League last year and this season are in the running to finish near the top of the standings (like MLS, Sweden runs on a spring-to-fall schedule). The report says that Hacken would like to re-sign Abrahamsson, who turns 31 later this month, but he may hesitate to do so if he is keen to move abroad for the first time in his career.

Abrahamsson has a few MLS links already: One of his teammates at Hacken is former Seattle Sounder Erik Friberg, and in 2017 the squad was coached by Mikael Stahre before his ill-fated stint in charge of the San Jose Earthquakes.
