Two MLS teams are said to be getting serious in their pursuit on an Ecuadorian international, according to a new report.

Infierno Rojo reported that two teams are interested in midfielder Fernando Gaibor, who is said to be valued at $6 million.

The 27-year-old currently plays for Argentine club Independiente, which he joined a year ago. It's the same club Ezequiel Barco played at before joining Atlanta United.

Before that, Gaibor played his entire pro career at Ecuadorian powerhouse Emelec. Winning the league's best young player award in 2011, he's won four Ecuadorian Serie A titles there, and has both Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana experience. He's also a full Ecuador international, racking up 15 caps, including at the 2016 Copa AmƩrica Centenario tournament, and one of his two goals for his country was scored in the US, in a friendly against El Salvador at Red Bull Arena in June 2017.

It's unclear which MLS teams are interested in Gaibor based on the report.
