TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor
Two MLS teams are said to be getting serious in their pursuit on an Ecuadorian international, according to a new report.
Infierno Rojo reported that two teams are interested in midfielder Fernando Gaibor, who is said to be valued at $6 million.
Before that, Gaibor played his entire pro career at Ecuadorian powerhouse Emelec. Winning the league's best young player award in 2011, he's won four Ecuadorian Serie A titles there, and has both Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana experience. He's also a full Ecuador international, racking up 15 caps, including at the 2016 Copa América Centenario tournament, and one of his two goals for his country was scored in the US, in a friendly against El Salvador at Red Bull Arena in June 2017.
It's unclear which MLS teams are interested in Gaibor based on the report.
