Fantasy: Week 14 positional rankings

Reid and Mike are joined by Ashley Savage from MLSfemale.com to review the most important fantasy takeaways from Round 13 and preview the options for the Round 14 DGW. During the first half of the show, they throw out some new name ideas for the award for the lowest scoring fantasy team in a league, and ideas of for how to make Fantasy more fun for Bobby Warshaw. After that, it’s down to business discuss some of their top player recommendations for Round 14 as well as value picks and switcheroo options.

A massive 10-team double-game week is upon us with just two weeks to go in the MLS Fantasy Spring season. Looking ahead to next week’s condensed schedule, Week 14 may be the best opportunity to make a big move in the standings. With that said, let’s dial in on the top players at each position, with an emphasis on players who could play twice this week.

Goalkeepers

Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan has kept a clean sheet in each of his last three appearances at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and he’s in a good spot to extend that streak with two favorable home games in Week 14. First up is a game against a Minnesota United attack on Wednesday (7 pm ET | TV & streaming info) that was held scoreless in their last road game before rounding the DGW out against a Chicago Fire attack on Saturday (3:30 pm ET | UniMás — Full TV & streaming info) that has just one goal across their last four road games.

Jonathan dos Santos scored a banger to lift the LA Galaxy in Week 13, and he continues to churn out fantasy points regardless of if he makes an impact on the scoresheet. There’s cause for hesitation given his recent injury concerns, but if he’s in the starting lineup on Wednesday, he has arguably the best floor of any DGW midfielder this week.

Wayne Rooney has a goal or an assist in each of his last four starts and the D.C. United striker comes with immense upside with two exploitable home matchups this week. There’s not much separating the top three forwards, and a case could be made to load up on the heavy artillery at the forward position in Week 14.
