Sebastian Jaime parts ways with Real Salt Lake, signs with Universidad Catolica

Sebastian Jaime celebrates a goal for Real Salt Lake against the Seattle Sounders

Days after bringing striker Yura Movsisyan back to Utah, Real Salt Lake announced on Thursday that they have parted ways with forward Sebastian Jaime.

Upon termination of his contract, Jaime signed with Universidad Catolica in Chile, where he previously played for La Serena (2010) and Union Espanola (2011-2014).

"We would like to thank Sebastian for his contributions to the club the past two seasons," RSL general manager Craig Waibel said in a team statement. "His next opportunity in Chile is a great chance for him to play while still being close to his extended family in Argentina."

Jaime arrived at RSL in August 2014, moving from Union Española to sign a Designated Player contract with Salt Lake. He failed to find the back of the net in six appearances during his first season in MLS, and scored five times in 20 appearances in 2015.

"Sebastian made some great contributions to the club and I appreciate coaching a player so committed to the organization," RSL head coach Jeff Cassar said.
