MLS Cup Playoffs: Eastern Conference seeding set in stone

Pajoy and Pontius celebrate with Kitchen

The bracket is set in the Eastern Conference, even if the Dynamo didn't have a chance to say anything about it.

With New York's victory, 3-0, over Philadelphia and D.C. and Chicago's draw, 1-1, at Toyota Park on Saturday afternoon, the matchups are all set, even if the details are still a bit fuzzy.

In their first postseason appearance since 2007, United will be the No. 2 seed in the East, taking on the third-seeded Red Bulls on Nov. 3 or 4 in Harrison, N.J., with the return leg coming Nov. 7 at RFK Stadium.

Chicago will host Houston on Oct. 31 on ESPN2 in the Knockout Round for a chance to take on top-seeded Sporting KC in the conference semifinals. Game time for that match has yet to be announced.
