Two clubs in the thick of the chase for playoff positions in the Eastern Conference meet when the MontrƩal Impact entertain Philadelphia Union on Saturday evening at Stade Saputo. The Impact sit in fourth place in the division, their six-game undefeated run put to an end last weekend in a 3-1 home defeat by New York City FC. Union are in second place in the conference, four points ahead of the Impact, hitting the road after overturning a two-goal deficit for a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls last weekend at Talen Energy Stadium.

  • The Impact lost for the first time in MLS play since May 21, a run of six games, in their 3-1 defeat by New York City FC on Sunday afternoon at Stade Saputo. Harry Shipp scored his second goal for the club, both in the last three matches.
  • Union scored twice within a minute ā€“ C.J. Sapong converting a penalty kick in the 67th minute, then Chris Pontius netting in the 68th ā€“ as they came back from two goals down to reach a 2-2 with the New York Red Bulls on Sunday evening at Talen Energy Stadium. It was the shortest span between goals in Union club history.
