Inter Miami fans turn out en masse to support U-14s vs. Barcelona

The U-14 squad for Inter Miami CF's academy might not have pulled off a victory against their counterparts from FC Barcelona's legendary La Masia setup.

Even so, they got an experience they'll always remember.

Members of the MLS club's Southern Legion supporters turned out in impressive force for two games on Wednesday, as Miami beat the LA Galaxy earlier in the day at International Champions Cup Futures play at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

This despite the fact that the journey by car is nearly four hours from Southern Florida's Atlantic Coast to IMG's setup just south of Tampa and St. Petersburg on the Gulf Coast.

“You can tell already what the supporters are going to do for Inter Miami,” U-14 coach John Deeley said, whose team fell 2-0 to Barcelona.

Miami finished the group stage on Thursday with a 1-0 loss against Shanghai Football Team.

The wait is only three months now for those supporters before they get to cheer on their first team in their own digs. Inter Miami will play its first-ever MLS home game against the LA Galaxy on March 14.
