When FC Cincinnati general manager Gerard Nijkamp told reporters “working on a second signing and close also,” last week, it appears he was referring to Moroccan winger Adrien Regattin.

The 28-year-old has been without a club since leaving Akhisarspor in Turkey’s second division in August. He was also being courted by French Ligue 2 side Caen, which reportedly was set to offer a contract.

But it appears FC Cincinnati have reportedly won the chase for his signature.

Regattin had five goals and two assists in 36 appearances with Akhisarspor. Previously he competed for Osmanilispor FK, also in Turkey’s 1.Lig where he had nine goals and six assists in 80 games.

He began his professional career with FC Toulouse in Ligue 1 where he had 11 goals and 16 assists in 163 appearances after moving up from Toulouse B in July 2011.

Regattin has been capped once by Morocco, playing 30 minutes in an International friendly against Togo in Nov. 2012.

FC Cincinnati are also reportedly closing in on the signing of Dutch attacker Jurgen Locadia in the coming days.
