Konrad de la Fuente, US youth international, trains with Barcelona first team

Konrad de la Fuente - US U20 - holding off French player

Things are looking up for United States youth international Konrad de la Fuente at Barcelona.

The 18-year-old attacker was caled into Barcelona's first-team training for the first time on Monday, just hours after scoring a 90th-minute winner for Barcelona B in their 2-1 away triumph over Prat.

The goal was the first at Barca B for de la Fuente, who appeared in all five matches for the US U-20 national team at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup last spring.

The appearance was just his third of the season for Barca B, after playing this fall with Barcelona's U-19 squad, where he scored three goals in five UEFA Youth League starts, according to Soccerway.com.

Born in Miami to Haitian parents, de la Fuente's family moved to Spain when he was 10 years old after his father took a job at Spain's Haitian embassy. He joined Barca's youth setup two years later.
