Report: Sporting Kansas City make offer for Saint-Etienne center back Leo Lacroix


Sporting Kansas City have made an offer for Swiss center back Leo Lacroix, according to reports.

Goal.com reports SKC have made a bid for the 27-year-old who currently plays for AS Saint-Etienne in France’s Ligue 1.

“Yes, a departure is possible if I do not find the competition by the transfer window,” Lacroix told newspaper Le Matin in December.

Subsequently, Lacroix, who returned from a loan spell with Hamburger SV in 2. Bundesliga last June, didn’t play for former coach Ghislain Printant at the end of last season and hasn’t been featured since Claude Puel’s appointment as manager in October.

The 6-foot-6 Lacroix, who also spent five months on loan at FC Basel, has been capped once by the Swiss national team, making his debut in an international friendly against Qatar in Nov., 2018.

He previously represented Switzerland in the youth ranks from U-18 to U-21.
