MLS Disciplinary Committee fines two teams, two coaches and five players

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined two teams, two head coaches and five players following Week 30 of the 2019 MLS regular season.


Portland and Sporting mass confrontation

The Disciplinary Committee has found the Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City in violation of the mass confrontation policy in the 35th minute of their game on Sept. 29. It is Portland's fourth violation of the policy this season, and the organization and head coach Giovanni Savarese have been issued undisclosed fines. It is Kansas City's second violation of the policy this season, and the organization and head coach Peter Vermes have been issue undisclosed fines.


Fernandez failure to leave field in timely manner

The Disciplinary Committee has issued an undisclosed fine to Portland forward Brian Fernandez for failure to leave the field in a timely manner, after he received a red card in the 36th minute against Sporting KC on Sept. 29.


Sanchez failure to leave field in timely manner

The Disciplinary Committee has issued an undisclosed fine to Sporting midfielder Ilie Sanchez for failure to leave the field in a timely manner, after he received a red card in the 83rd minute against Portland on Sept. 29.


Tajouri-Shradi simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found NYCFC forward Ismael Tajouri-Shradi guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident occurred in the 79th minute of the Sept. 29 match against New England, and he has been issued an undisclosed fine.


Rubio simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found Colorado Rapids forward Diego Rubio guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident occurred in the 64th minute of the Sept. 29 match against Dallas, and he has been issued an undisclosed fine.


Luiz simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found Real Salt Lake midfielder Everton Luiz guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident occurred in the 84th minute of the Sept. 29 match against the Houston Dynamo, and he has been issued an undisclosed fine.
