Future is coming soon as Sounders products join preseason training camp

Seattle Sounders - preseason training

When Garth Lagerwey joined the Seattle Sounders' front office, one of the tasks he set was to build out the youth set-up of the club and create the proverbial bridge between the academy and first team.

The project may be ongoing, but there is a glimpse of what could be on the horizon for the Sounders, as a group of promising academy products and current academy players – several of whom have been signed by the Sounders' USL Championship team, Tacoma Defiance – went to preseason training camp in Southern California with the first team.

The Sounders released a video of the youngsters reflecting on the experience, and discussing how experiencing training camp with the stars of the team was helping them prepare for a professional career.

These players have been putting in their paces at the USL Championship level, or have been getting plenty of run for the US youth national teams of late, and don't be surprised if these players are suiting up at the MLS level in the years to come.
