TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Another young Canadian international could be returning home for 2019, according to leading French publication L’Equipe.

The outlet reported on Saturday that Canada defender Zachary Brault-Guillard, 20, will join the Montreal Impact on a season-long loan from his club Olympique Lyon. The right back has already been taking part in Montreal’s preseason training camp in Florida as a trialist.

Born in Haiti and raised by a Canadian father and French mother, Brault-Guillard spent time in both Montreal and Lyon as a child and has been in the system at OL – where Impact coach Remi Garde managed from 2011-14 – since 2016.

A past member of Canada’s Under-20 setup, Brault-Guillard made his senior debut for Les Rouges last year, one of two caps he earned in 2018.
