Late Sigi Schmid honored with moment of silence at LA Kings' NHL game

Sigi Schmid - moment of silence - THUMB ONLY

When the NHL returned from its holiday break on Thursday evening, the LA Kings honored recently departed MLS coaching legend Sigi Schmid with a gesture that showed the size of his impact in Southern California.

Ahead of their game against the Arizona Coyotes, the Kings honored Schmid with an impeccably observed moment of silence, noting his accomplishments with the LA Galaxy and UCLA, as well as in MLS as a whole.

Schmid passed away on Christmas Day, having been hospitalized weeks earlier. He was 65.
