England have announced their squad for their upcoming friendly against the US men's national team and the World Cup semifinalists brought a strong team despite some injury concerns.
D.C. United forward Wayne Rooney joins Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Dele Alli and Marcus Rashford in a deep forward line. Christian Pulisic's Borussia Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho has received another call-up after making his England debut in October.
"I am still able to look to the future with the squad we've picked, but we've talked a lot about the history of the shirt," manager Gareth Southgate said via BBC Sport. "I think all the players respect Wayne's contribution and that he deserves the best possible send-off."
After facing the USMNT on Nov. 15 (3 pm ET | ESPN2, UniMas, Univision Deportes) at Wembley Stadium, England host Croatia in the UEFA Nations League three days later.
