MLS Disciplinary Committee issues five fines following Week 24

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued five fines and three warnings, following Week 24 of the 2018 MLS regular season.


Rapids-Quakes mass confrontation

Both the Colorado Rapids and the San Jose Earthquakes were found to be in violation of the mass confrontation policy during the 87th minute of the teamsā€™ match on August 11.


The Rapids and head coach Anthony Hudson were fined an undisclosed amount for the clubā€™s second violation of the leagueā€™s policy this season. Rapids midfielder Jack Price was fined an undisclosed amount for his role instigating and escalating a mass confrontation. The Earthquakes have been issued a warning for the clubā€™s first violation of the leagueā€™s policy this season.


Higuita failure to leave the field

Orlando City SC midfielder Cristian Higuita was fined an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner during the 55th minute of Orlandoā€™s match against D.C. United on August 12.


Ziegler failure to leave the field

FC Dallas defender Reto Ziegler was fined an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner during the 90+ minute of Dallasā€™ match against the Seattle Sounders on August 12.


Seattle-Dallas mass confrontation

Both FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders were found to be in violation of the mass confrontation policy after the teamsā€™ match on August 12. Both clubs will be issued a warning for their first violation during the 2018 MLS Regular Season.
