It’s time for another juicy transfer-window rumor! This one features Paraguayan forward Oscar Cardozo, who currently plays for Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
The 33-year-old has recently been linked to both the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake, reported FutbolMLS, to whom his agent, Pedro Aldave, confirmed some interest. “We’ve had contact from all sides, from Sporting in Lisbon, China, and also from MLS, but we’ll see,” he said.
“He has family there,” Aldave continued, speaking of Cardozo, “and he likes very much the idea of playing in the US.”
Cardozo would bring some impressive experience to any MLS team. Over a decade playing in Europe, he’s notched some 260 goals, and twice helped take Benfica to the UEFA Europa League runner-up slot. He also represented Paraguay in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
