Real Salt Lake midfielder Omar Holness made his pro debut Saturday night on loan with USL side Real Monarchs. But at the 33rd minute, a medical incident led to his removal from the field. An official statement from RSL follows:


"Real Salt Lake midfielder Omar Holness suffered an apparent seizure Saturday night while playing on loan with Real Monarchs SLC in the USL. The match was stopped in the 33rd minute and was delayed 20 minutes while medical personnel attended to Holness on the field. He was taken immediately to a local hospital for evaluation.


Further details will be disclosed when they are available.


Holness was selected fifth overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft after playing at the collegiate level at the University of North Carolina. The 22-year-old has one cap with the Jamaican National Team."


UPDATE: The club has shared that Holness is responsive while undergoing evaluation.
