On Monday we dropped a really fun, challenging trivia question on the MLSsoccer.com readership.
What goal, since 2010, was scored in MLS as a result of the longest preceding pass sequence, and how many passes?
The great thing about it was that you couldn't simply look up a fact on Wikipedia and immediately answer it correctly, ruining the fun for those that wanted a challenge. It forced you to do some thinking and — gasp — perhaps a little bit of research.
The answer to the question was a 22-pass move from Sporting Kansas City, finished off by a Kei Kamara header, on Aug. 10, 2013, in a 3-0 victory over the New England Revolution.
That was the correct answer for all of 48 hours, thanks to the LA Galaxy, who must have read the question, realized they weren't the correct answer, and set out to become so.
On Wednesday night, they scored following the below 26-pass sequence in a 4-1 victory over DC United.
Bonus question answer: Sporting KC were the team most heavily featured in the Top 20 sequences, with five.
