Report: Chilean winger Santiago Dittborn on trial with New York Red Bulls

New York Red Bulls celebrate after a Lloyd Sam goal

When the New York Red Bulls announced the acquisition of Shaun Wright-Phillips earlier this week, general manager Ali Curtis said the team was likely not done adding pieces this transfer window.

Could he have been referring to Chilean Santiago Dittborn?

The 22-year-old midfielder was spotted at Red Bulls training this week, BigAppleSoccer.com reported on Thursday. The free agent, who played with Chilean side Universidad Católica from 2011-15, with loan stints at Cobreloa and San Marcos de Arica in that time, also spent time in Philadelphia Union camp earlier this month, Philly.com reported.

The Red Bulls have also been linked with a move for Argentine winger Gonzalo Verón as a Designated Player.
