The New York Red Bulls announced on Thursday that former managing director Marc de Grandpre has rejoined the club, this time as head of commercial operations, replacing Jerome de Bontin.

De Grandpre will join the club at month's end, departing top marketing positions with KIND Snacks and IMAX. He served as the Red Bulls' top executive from 2006 to 2008, a tumultuous time for the club as they transitioned from Giants Stadium into Red Bull Arena.

De Grandpre previously worked in other areas of the club's corporate ownership group, helping spearhead the brand's entry into the North American market.

He will work alongside sporting director Andy Roxburgh to lead the New York Red Bulls. Both report to Red Bull's global soccer leadership in Austria.
