American Exports: Alejandro Bedoya not expected to miss any time for Nantes after suffering hip injury

AMSTERDAM – Nantes midfielder Alejandro Bedoya is not expecting to miss any time despite an early departure from Saturday's derby win at Lorient with a hip injury.

The US attacker was taken off in the 49th minute, having suffered the injury in a first-half aerial collision. However, with Ligue 1 now off until January 11 and the holidays directly ahead, Bedoya is unlikely to even miss much training time.

"I took a knee to my hip going up for a header and it gave me a bad hip pointer," Bedoya told MLSsoccer.com. "I tried to keep playing, but once I came in for halftime, it got cold.

"I tried to play in second half, but couldn't continue running normal or jump from the pain. I should be good to go after this break."

Splitting time between the No. 10 slot and wide midfield, Bedoya has a goal and an assist in 14 league games this season. He and Nantes head into the Christmas break standing seventh in the table, six points away from France's last Europa League ticket.
