New York Red Bulls lead MLS teams with quarterfinals finish at ICC Futures

The New York Red Bulls were the last Major League Soccer team standing at the International Champions Cup Futures tournament Saturday.


The RBNY U-14 Academy team lost to Paris Saint-Germain, 1-0, in the quarterfinals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.


The Red Bulls road to the quarterfinals started with a 2-1 win over the Michigan Wolves Wednesday. RBNY then easily handled ICC South, 6-1, before defeating Tottenham Hotspur, 2-0.


The Houston Dynamo opened their tournament, prevailing 3-1 on penalties after drawing Chivas de Guadalajara, 1-1. They fell to Real Madrid, 3-2, and close out their competition with a 1-0 victory over ICC East.


The New England Revolution dropped a 3-1 decision to Paris Saint-Germain before a 1-1 draw with Benfica, which prevailed 4-1 on penalty kicks. The Revs responded with a 7-6 PK shootout decision after a 1-1 draw with ICC West.


Inter Miami opened with a 1-0 win over the LA Galaxy before losing to FC Barcelona (2-0) and Shanghai Footbal Team (1-0).


The Galaxy beat Shanghai Footbal Team, 2-0, before a 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona in their third match.
