Major League Soccer announced on Friday they have suspended San Jose Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda an additional two games (three games total) for on-field misconduct during the Aug. 21 game against LAFC. Almeyda was ejected from the match in the first half, leading to the original one-game suspension.

In addition to his suspension, Almeyda has also been issued an undisclosed fine by MLS Commissioner Don Garber due to his actions in the incident.

Almeyda served the first game of his suspension on Saturday against Vancouver. He will complete his suspension this coming Saturday against Orlando City and on Sept. 11 against Real Salt Lake.
