Chris Tierney returns to New England Revolution in front office role

Chris Tierney - New England Revolution - Waving to fans

A longtime New England Revolution player is back around Gillette Stadium, as the club announced Friday that Chris Tierney has been hired as player recruitment manager. In the role, the former left back will focus on player scouting under technical director Curt Onalfo and sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena.

“It is always a great moment for our club anytime there is an opportunity to bring one of our former players back in a new role," Revolution president Brian Bilello said in a team release. "Chris was a great player, teammate and ambassador for the Revolution on and off the field during his time as a player and we’re thrilled to have him join the front office."

The Wellesley, Mass., native spent his entire pro playing career in New England, playing 246 MLS regular-season games between 2008-18. Tierney was known for his dead-ball service and scored 13 goals and 40 assists across his career. He memorably scored a late equalizer in the 2014 MLS Cup for the Revs, though they fell to an Arena-coached LA Galaxy side.
