German-born American forward Andrew Wooten helped SV Sandhausen remain in the 2. Bundesliga this past season, but he appears ready to leave the division for MLS.

According to a report from regional German newspaper Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung — first related in English by SBISoccer.com — Wooten is intent on such a move despite the German club's efforts to re-sign him.

The 29-year-old is coming off easily his best season in the second division, scoring 17 goals in 31 matches to help Sandhausen finish 15th, just above the relegation places.

Previously, Wooten's most productive season came when he scored 20 goals in Regionalia with Kaisterslauten II.

Wooten has one cap for the US men's national team, which came back in October 2015.
