TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

The Philadelphia Union have signed forward Michee Ngalina from USL affiliate Bethlehem Steel FC, the club announced Wednesday.

Ngalina, who just turned 19 in April, has 10 goals in three assists in USL play since debuting in 2018. He has earned a call up from the DR Congo youth national teams, competing in the 2016 Central African Football Federations' Union (UNIFAC) where he led his team in goals.

“We are proud to reward Michee’s hard work with Bethlehem with this first-team contract,” Union sporting director Ernst Tanner said in a club statement. “He has shown well in training alongside the first team, and he has earned the right to formally take this next step. He is a fast, exciting player with a knack for getting in behind the defense, and we look forward to the next phase of his career as he officially joins the Union roster.”

The Union will be without striker Cory Burke for at least three months and traded David Accam to Columbus Crew SC ahead of the Primary Transfer Window deadline.
