Atlanta, get ready for Campeones Cup.

The second edition of the competition, which pits the champions of Major League Soccer and Mexico’s CampeĂłn de Campeones, will be hosted by Atlanta United, the 2018 MLS Cup winner on August 14. The announcement was made at the State of the League address in Atlanta on Friday.

A joint venture between MLS and Liga MX announced in March, the first Campeones Cup took place at BMO Field on Sept. 13, with Tigres UANL defeating host Toronto FC, 3-1.

In September, Major League Soccer announced that four networks in the US and Canada â€“ Univision, ESPN, TSN, and TVA Sports – have entered into long-term broadcast partnerships to air the annual competition.

The deal is part of a historic collaboration forged between MLS and Liga MX earlier this year, with the four respective sports networks entering into broadcast deals as part of that collaboration. The leagues will work together on sharing best business practices and social responsibility efforts, and have committed to a future MLS All-Star Game that includes both leagues.
