The key to racking up points this MLS Fantasy round was to rock a mullet. That super cool hairstyle where you start Portland Timbers in front and LA Galaxy players in back.

Diego Valeri ($11.2) and his jaw-dropping brace was the best fantasy performance of the round, good for 15 points. Timbers teammate Lucas Melano ($8.9) was the only forward to make this round’s dream team and surprisingly for his position it was on the strength of two assists. A third teammate, defender Jermaine Taylor ($6.5), made it onto this round’s XI with an assist and defensive bonuses.
Ultimately it was another week with several clean sheets which resulted in a 5-4-1 formation for our MLS Fantasy dream team. The Galaxy’s Brian Rowe ($5.1) plus defenders Dave Romney ($5.2) and Daniel Steres ($5.5) rode their bonuses to fine fantasy performances. All in all, there were six defenders who were good for nine points last round, the least selected being Portland’s Taylor, who missed the previous two rounds.
Can’t do the Fantasy Rewind without mentioning Sacha Kljestan ($12.2), whose 14-point performance was his best since round 12.

So what am I keeping an eye out for this week? Derby games have proven lucrative for fantasy points this season, and this weekend the #NYderby heads to the red side of NY. Frank Lampard ($10.5) needs no introduction but he’s NYCFC’s hottest fantasy player with five goals in his last six appearances but he’s only been picked up by 2.2 percent of managers.
