AMSTERDAM – Bodø/Glimt loan winger Danny Cruz is  expected to be available for Wednesday's NM Cupen second-round tilt away to mites FK Mjølner despite having suffered two boots to the face in as many days.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Union loan item was just 17 minutes into his first Tippeligaen start when waylaid by a kick to the noggin by Aalesunds FK defender Mikael Dyrestam. Cruz, who did not return in the 2-0 loss, was then forced to pay the doctor a similar visit after training on Monday.

"Unfortunately, it happened again in training the day after, so he got to go to the hospital to get some more stitches," Glimt press officer Kent Andre Aagnes told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday morning. "He will not miss any games."

The original injury spoiled a rare occasion as the Cruz lineup debut came in a side with compatriot Zarek Valentin, marking just the third time two American players with MLS experience took the field as starting teammates in a Norwegian top flight match. The pair joins last season's Stabæk duo of Andrew Jacobsen and Michael Stephens, as well as the former IK Start back line pair of Clarence Goodson and Hunter Freeman.

After Glimt tackle their mid-week cup assignment, the cellar dwellers will return home to welcome Strømsgodset on Sunday.
