Jose Torres with Tigres UANL

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – It was difficult to tell which was better: Jose Torres’ goal or celebration.

From a bad angle on the left side of the penalty area, the US international sent a left-footed half-volley flying into the top corner of the net for Tigres UANL's third goal in their 6-0 home win 1250295372" tabindex="0">on Wednesday over Atlante in the Copa MX quarterfinals. Then Torres did a somersault and back-flip by the corner flag to celebrate. (Watch YouTube video.)

Torres went 72 minutes of the game and appears to have won his place back in Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti’s starting lineup.

Former Tigres left back Jonathan Bornstein was involved on the other side of the contest, going 68 minutes for Los Potros, who crashed out of the competition and will now focus exclusively on the fight to stay in Liga MX.
