Soccer games can be decided by the finest of margins, and it doesn't get any finer than Andy Dorman's opening goal against Sporting KC in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The play looks perfectly legitimate until its bang-bang conclusion. The rebound from Diego Fagundez's snapshot comes off of Juan Agudelo's chest, and appears to be rolling towards goal, but Andy Dorman comes in to tap it home for good measure, sparking furious appeals for offside from the Sporting KC players. Did they have a case?
The question here is if Dorman is behind or in line with the ball when it comes off of Agduelo's chest. If he is, he is onside. If he's ahead of the ball, he's off. The angle here isn't the greatest (and nor is the assistant ref's, who is 2-3 yards behind the play), but it appears Dorman is in line with the ball, making it a good goal.
