Don't look now, folks, but the most highly-anticipated 90 minutes for the US national team every four years — the USMNT's home World Cup qualifying match against Mexico — is less than two weeks away.

And on Thursday, US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced his 23-man roster live on ESPN's SportsCenter for the round of two September qualifying games, which includes an away trip to Costa Rica on September 6 and the rivalry matchup against Mexico four days later in Columbus, Ohio.

As always with these big roster announcements, there were a couple of typical surprise inclusions, surprise omissions, many predictable choices and lots of fan and journalistic opinions on the roster. Oh, there were opinions.
