Bosnia and Herzegovina release 20-man roster for upcoming friendly vs. USMNT

Manchester City's Edin Dzeko tries to get back a Whitecaps defender.

When the US national team faces Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly next week in Sarajevo, they’ll have another strong test.

With a 20-man roster headlined by Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, Bosnia will likely feature several names familiar to global soccer audiences against the Americans.

In addition to Dzeko, Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic represents the English Premier League on the roster, while those who watched the MLS All-Star Game last week saw Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic start against the best of MLS. Those familiar with German soccer will also recognize forward and former St. Louis University star Vedad Ibisevic, currently playing for Stuttgart.

While the US have enjoyed a productive summer, Bosnia and Herzegovina have also been in fine form recently. They currently sit in 13th place in the FIFA rankings (the US are 19th), and lead their group in World Cup qualifying.

The friendly will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 2:30 pm ET (ESPN2, live chat on MLSsoccer.com).
