Toronto FC's in-season roster remodeling continued on Thursday as the Reds acquired winger Bobby Convey from Sporting Kansas City in exchange for TFC's third-round pick in next year's MLS SuperDraft.
A veteran with ample experience in MLS, the English leagues and the US national team, Convey appeared in 20 MLS matches (including playoffs) with Sporting Kansas City, recording one goal and two assists since being acquired from the San Jose Earthquakes in December 2011.

But the 29-year-old has played just 122 minutes for Sporting this season, and hasn't started a match since early March.
Convey is in his 10th MLS season, and during that time has made 189 career appearances (including the postseason) with 14 goals and 33 assists.
The Philadelphia native was the youngest player in MLS history when he began his pro career with D.C. United at age 16. He initially lived with club president Kevin Payne – now in charge at TFC – and his family in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and was a teammate of TFC head coach Ryan Nelsen during the latter part of his time in D.C.
