If the US men's national team wants to fulfill its dream of posting a win at Mexico's Estadio Azteca next week, it will have to get through a formidable Mexico side.
On Thursday afternoon, the USMNT's rivals to the south announced their 18-man roster for next Wednesday's friendly, and the squad is replete with Mexico's Europe-based stars.
Among those called were Manchester United hitman Javier "Chicharito" Hernández, new Valencia wide man Andrés Guardado and Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
El Tri will be missing two regular fixtures in the senior squad, though, as Giovani dos Santos and Carlos Salcido are both with Mexico's U-23 team, which will battle Brazil for Olympic gold on Thursday.
Other notables in the squad include Cruz Azul winger Pablo Barrera, Monterrey attacker Ángel Reyna and his club teammate, midfielder Jesús Zavala.
