MLS Disciplinary Committee hands out fines following Minnesota-RSL incidents
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined four players and issued two warnings to clubs for mass confrontation after Week 2 of the 2021 MLS season.
2021 (Philadelphia): Santos has made 29 appearances (19 starts) for the Union in 2021 across all competitions....Santos scored his first goal of the 2021 MLS season in a win against Portland (May 30)...Provided the game-tying goal in the 85' at NYRB (July 8)...Scored and registered his first assist of the season in a 2-1 win against D.C. United (July 17)...Was named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 17) after his strong performance vs. Toronto FC (Aug 4)...Made his first start of the 2021 MLS season in the Union's home opener against Inter Miami (April 24)... Scored his fifth goal of the season against the New York Red Bulls (Sep 29).
2020 (Philadelphia): Santos has made 21 appearances (17 starts) for the Union at striker, scoring eight goals and registering two assists … He scored the opening goal and assisted on the third goal in the 3-3 draw on the road against LAFC ... \Scored the match-winner in the 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution (July 25) to send the Union to the MLS is Back Tournament Quarterfinals ... Scored two goals and earned the secondary assist on the other in the 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City to send the Union to the MLS is Back Semifinals \... Scored his second MLS goal of the season (fifth in all competitions) in a 4-1 home win over D.C. United (August 29)...Scored his third goal of the season with the opener at Toronto FC (October 3)...notched his fourth goal of 2020 with the game winner against the Montreal Impact (October 11)...recorded his second assist of the season on the club's opening goal in a 2-2 draw at D.C. 2019 (Philadelphia/Bethlehem): Santos has made 17 appearances (five starts) for the Union at forward, scoring four goals with one assist ... came on as a substitute, making his team debut, in the season opener vs. Toronto (March 2) ... missed the stretch of matches from at Atlanta (March 17) through at FC Cincinnati (March 30) after being listed as out with a left quad strain ... after a rehab appearance for Bethlehem, missed the match at LA Galaxy (April 13) after being listed as out with a left knee contusion ... was upgraded to questionable for the matches against Montreal (April 20) and Vancouver (April 27) but did not appear ... returned to action with a substitute appearance vs. New England (May 4), scoring his first two career MLS goals ... made his first MLS and Union start vs. Seattle (May 18) ... in his second Union start, scored his third goal of the season, vs. Colorado (May 29) ... missed the stretch of matches from vs. Chicago (July 20) through at D.C. United (August 4) with a right ankle sprain ... came off the bench to register the game-winning assist as well as an insurance goal in the 3-1 win over Atlanta United (August 31) ... made one appearance in the Open Cup, starting the Fourth Round match at D.C. United (June 12) ... for Bethlehem, Santos has made two appearances (one start), scoring one goal ... notched the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute in his Steel FC debut, at Swope Park Rangers (April 6) ... prior to the season, Santos joined Philadelphia on a transfer from Chilean club Audax Italiano.
2018 (Audax Italiano): Santos broke out with nine goals over 16 appearances in 2018, tying for 10th in the league. He also scored in one Copa Sudamericana appearance against Botafogo, and he helped Audax to the Copa Chile final, where the side finished as runners-up to Palestino.
2017 (Audax Italiano): In a shortened season due to a calendar transition, Santos notched four goals in 14 appearances, helping Audax qualify for the 2018 Copa Sudamericana with a fifth place league finish.
2016-17 (Audax Italiano): Santos scored three goals across 24 appearances in the final Chilean season to feature an Apertura/Clausura format.
2015-16 (Audax Italiano): The forward appeared 19 times in his first season as a regular, scoring three goals. His first professional tally came as part of a 2-1 win against Cobresal (October 15).
2014-15 (Audax Italiano): Santos made his professional debut with one substitute appearance late in the 2014-15 campaign, coming on for 31 minutes vs. Univ. Concepcion (April 19).
