TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Is it time for another watch hashtag from New York Red Bulls fans?

Since the painfully long process to land Alejandro Romero “Kaku” Gamarra, which sparked the original #KakuWatch, there are reports from Argentina that the club is interested in another young attacking player from Club Huracán.

According to Ole in Argentina, the New York Red Bulls and Boca Juniors are the suitors in the chase for Ignacio Pussetto, the 22-year-old forward who scored nine goals in SuperLiga Argentina last year.

Ole reports the price tag is hefty — $10 million — to land Pussetto, an amount Boca believes is too high. It’s a possibility that Huracán president Alejandro Nadur, is trying to inflate the transfer fee, but he told the outlet that there was a previous inquiry coming from the “Red Bull Group,” but the $7 million offer was too low.

“There is a lot of interest for Pussetto from abroad, from New York, from Europe, surely some possibility that he will play in another team,” Nadur said.

Pussetto was a teammate of Kaku’s for nearly two years at Huracán after making the move from Atletico de Rafaela for $1.4 million in July 2016.
