There are 15 days until the 2016 MLS regular season begins and four teams in CONCACAF Champions League starting this week, and that means plenty of preseason action is on tap today. Here's what you need to know:

Ilsinho gets two helpers; NYCFC, SJ win late

Philadelphia Union trialist Ilsinho lit up the stat sheet on Saturday night, providing both assists in a 2-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Brazilian wide man provided both helpers from his right foot, one on a corner and the other from open play.

Elsewhere, New York City FC and the San Jose Earthquakes both snatched late wins against non-MLS opposition. NYCFC rode late goals from Khiry Shelton (below) and David Villa to a 2-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies, while San Jose came back from an early deficit to win thanks to a pair of goals from Quincy Amarikwa.

DC tumble, RSL grind out draw

Real Salt Lake and D.C. United went through their final paces ahead of next week's CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals with mixed results.

A reserve-heavy D.C. lineup conceded three goals in the first 31 minutes against a strong Montreal Impact XI, though United fans would be heartened to see Alvaro Saborio find the net ahead of their trip to Queretaro. Though Didier Drogba has joined the Impact in training camp, he did not feature on Saturday, while new acquisition Harry Shipp played 75 minutes and picked up an assist on Dominic Oduro's opener.

Further west in Tucson, RSL also fielded a reserve-heavy starting lineup, with the likes of Nick Rimando, Kyle Beckerman, Javier Morales, and Designated Players Yura Movsisyan, Joao Plata and Juan Manuel Martinez all sitting out a 1-1 draw with Columbus. They nonetheless managed to get on the board early through Jordan Allen, against a Crew SC lineup nearly identical to the one that started MLS Cup 2015, though Kei Kamara equalized from a Waylon Francis assist in the 26th minute.

Final CCL tuneups

Real Salt Lake and D.C. United will both get their final run-outs before facing Mexican opposition in the CONCACAF Champions League next week, and fans will be able to watch both games live.

D.C. will open Saturday's proceedings when they face 2015 CCL finalists Montreal Impact at 4 pm ET in St. Petersburg, Florida, streaming live on dcunited.com. RSL are the next team up on Saturday evening and face Columbus Crew SC at 7 pm ET in Tucson, Arizona, with columbuscrewsc.com carrying the live stream.

There's plenty more preseason action out there tonight for those who want it – in addition to D.C.-Montreal and Columbus-RSL, four other games featuring MLS teams will be streamed live. Down in Florida, the Philadelphia Union will face the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL while New York City FC go up against Danish second-division side HB Koge as part of the Suncoast Pro Classic (note that the live stream for this game is not free).

Out in Tucson, two all-MLS matchups in the the annual Desert Diamond Cup will round out the evening. Colorado-Houston will start at 9 pm ET on houstondynamo.com and Kansas City-New England follows 30 minutes later on sportingkc.com.

NorCal classic on tap, Big D goes international

The San Jose Earthquakes continue their preseason preparations by making the short trip north for an exhibition match in front of what is sure to be a fired-up crowd at Sacramento Republic FC's Bonney Field. Though the budding NorCal rivalry match will not be streamed, fans in the area can still get tickets, while fans in more far-fling locales can follow on Twitter @SJEarthquakes, @SacRepublicFC and using the hashtag #SACvSJ.

Also on Saturday evening, FC Dallas host El Salvador's Alianza FC – a potential warmup for the kinds of teams they will face in the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League group stage come August.
