NEW YORK CITY FC VS. ORLANDO CITY SC
Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York
MAY 29, 2016 (WEEK 13, MLS GAME #132)
4:30 pm ET (ESPN, ESPN Deportes MLS LIVE)

The expansion class of 2015 meets for a second time this season in a key match for both clubs, when New York City FC play host to Orlando City SC on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium before an ESPN audience. NYCFC saw their five-game undefeated run put to an end in stunning circumstances last weekend, the New York Red Bulls putting up an MLS record-equaling 7-0 victory in the Bronx. Orlando City hit the road after maintaining their long undefeated streak at home, gaining a 2-2 draw with Philadelphia Union at midweek at Camping World Stadium.

  • Kaká recorded two assists for the second time this season and third game in his MLS career – all over his last 11 league appearances – in setting up both goals in Orlando City’s 2-1 win against the Montréal Impact at Camping World Stadium.
  • NYCFC became the fourth team in MLS history to concede seven goals or more in a game, their 7-0 defeat by the New York Red Bulls on Saturday afternoon matching the league’s all-time record for largest margin of victory in a single game.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Cyle Larin netted the game’s lone goal after seven minutes and Orlando City held out the rest of the way for a victory March 18 at Yankee Stadium, the first road win in the four all-time meetings between the expansion class of 2015.
  • The teams met three times in the inaugural season for both. In the first meeting between a pair of expansion clubs to open their MLS histories, the teams reached a 1-1 draw March 8 at the Citrus Bowl. Each team then won on its home ground, New York City FC taking a 5-3 win July 26 at Yankee Stadium, and Orlando City returning the favor with a 2-1 win Oct. 16 in Orlando.

  • Orlando City goalkeeper Joe Bendik was called upon to make six saves for the shutout, but NYCFC's best chance was a spectacular one in the 68th minute when David Villa chested down a nifty Andrea Pirlo feed in the box and fired a bicycle kick that sailed just high.
