New York City FC loanee Frank Lampard makes debut for Manchester City in thrilling draw against Arsenal

Frank Lampard for Manchester City vs. Arsenal

It wasn't a perfect debut by any means, but New York City FC loanee Frank Lampard is back on center stage after making his first appearance for Manchester City.

Lampard started in central midfield for the defending English Premier League champions against Arsenal on Saturday at Emirates Stadium in North London, picking up a yellow card before being removed at halftime for former Gunner Samir Nasri.

The two title contenders settled for a 2-2 draw after Martin Demichelis scored for the visitors from a corner kick in the 83rd minute to cancel out strikes from Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez.

Lampard became NYCFC's second Designated Player signing in July, inking a two-year deal to join Spaniard David Villa on head coach Jason Kreis' MLS expansion side. He'll remain with Man City until January then join Kreis and his teammates for preseason ahead of the club's inaugural season.
