MLS Disciplinary Committee fines three players after Week 7

Following Week 7 of the 2019 MLS regular season, the MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined three players.


Alonso hands to head/face/neck

The Disciplinary Committee has found Minnesota United FC midfielder Osvaldo Alonso in violation of the league’s policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent. Alonso has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 90+ minute of Minnesota’s match against New York City FC on April 13. 


Mezquida simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found Colorado Rapids midfielder Nicolás Mezquida guilty of simulation/embellishment. Mezquida has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 90+ minute of Colorado’s match against D.C. United on April 13.


Deplagne hands to head/face/neck

The Disciplinary Committee has found FC Cincinnati defender Mathieu Deplagne in violation of the league’s policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent. Deplagne has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 41st minute of Cincinnati’s match against LAFC on April 13.


Further disciplinary actions related to incidents from the previous match week may be announced at a later date.
