The LA Galaxy have signed star forward Robbie Keane to a multi-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday.
Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Keane was the Galaxy's MVP in the 2013 season, tallying 16 goals and 11 assists over the course of the season, and was a finalist for the 2013 Volkswagen MLS MVP award, which he lost out on to the Chicago Fire's Mike Magee.
The 33-year-old Designated Player heads into the 2014 season with 34 goals and 21 assists over 55 regular-season appearances under his belt since joining the Galaxy in August 2011. He was also an integral part of the Galaxy's back-to-back MLS Cup wins in 2011 and 2012 and has seven goals and three assists in 12 postseason appearances.

In addition to his MLS accomplishments the longtime Irish international, who captains both club and country and holds both the all-time appearances and goals records for Ireland, was recently awarded Football Association of Ireland’s Senior International Player of the Year award for the second time in his career after first picking it up in 2009.
Keane and the Galaxy kick off the upcoming MLS season on Saturday evening against Real Salt Lake (10:30 pm ET; MLS Live) before playing host next Wednesday to cross-border rivals Club Tijuana in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series.
