Concacaf Olympic qualifying tournament set for Guadalajara in March

The Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico, Concacaf announced Wednesday.


The tournament is scheduled to take place March 20 – April 1, 2020, at the Jalisco and Akron Stadiums.


The US and Canada, along with hosts Mexico are joined by El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras from Central America, while the final two spots from the Caribbean will be determined next month. Barbados, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Saint Kitts and Nevis have advanced to the final round of Caribbean qualifying.


The eight teams will be sorted into two groups of four teams. After round-robin play, the first and second place finishers of each group will advance to the semifinals. The semifinal winners will automatically qualify for the tournament’s final, as well as the Men's Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020.
