Club America celebrate their 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League trophy

The draw for the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League will be held June 1 at the New World Symphony Center in Miami, Fla., it was announced Wednesday.

The event, to be attended by CONCACAF officials and representatives of the 24 teams involved in the upcoming edition of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, will determine the eight groups for the preliminary stage that kicks off in August.

The five MLS teams set to participate in the tournament are MLS Cup winner LA Galaxy, Supporters’ Shield and US Open Cup champions Seattle Sounders, 2014 Eastern Conference regular-season champion D.C. United, Real Salt Lake and Vancouver Whitecaps.

RSL qualified by virtue of being the highest team in the Supporters’ Shield standings to have not already qualified. Vancouver earned their berth as the top Canadian team in the 2014 MLS regular season standings.
