Austin FC’s first preseason camp will kick off with two unsigned MLS SuperDraft selections and three invited players joining 21 rostered players on March 8.

Optional training sessions start March 1 while players adhere to MLS quarantine protocols.

“We are very excited to start our first preseason as an MLS club,” Austin coach Josh Wolff said in a statement. “The organization has worked tirelessly for over two years for this moment, and we look forward to officially starting this project and getting our players and staff on the field.”

The group will report for six weeks of preseason training and preseason competitions, playing a series of closed-door scrimmages and matches before the club embarks on its inaugural MLS season.

Joining the rostered players will be defender Aedan Stanley (Sporting Kansas City II) and midfielder Daniel Steedman (Atlanta United 2), who were drafted, as well as goalkeeper William Pulisic (Duke University), the cousin of Chelsea and US men's national team star Christian Pulisic, defender Samuel Rogers (Tacoma Defiance) and midfielder Luis Argudo (most recently of Inter Miami CF).

Newly signed Tomás Pochettino will join the roster upon completion of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

The preseason schedule will feature two closed-door scrimmages at St. Edward’s University against USL teams OKC Energy (March 19) and Louisville City FC (March 25). Fans and media are unable to attend closed-door scrimmages and preseason matches due to preseason COVID-19 protocols.

Austin FC will announce details related to three additional preseason matches that are scheduled to be played in April.
