The most prolific striker in New York Red Bulls history previously plied his trade in the English Football League Championship before he arrived at Red Bull Arena. In their efforts to replace Bradley Wright-Phillips, RBNY may try to prevent another Englishman from heading to his country's second division.

According to The Daily Record of Glasgow, the Red Bulls are interested in Aberdeen forward Sam Cosgrove, who's in the middle of a second consecutive double-digit goals season in the Scottish Premier League.

The Red Bulls would join several League Championship sides as interested parties in the services of the 23-year-old Yorkshire native, who scored 17 league goals a season ago and has 11 this time around.

It's no secret RBNY are in the market for a forward after moving on from Wright-Phillips, the club's all-time leading scorer. The 34-year-old formerly played in England's second and third divisions at Brentford, Charlton, Plymouth Argyle and Southampton before reviving his career in MLS.

To date, the Red Bulls only have three forwards on their roster. None have scored more goals than Brian White, who had nine in 19games last season.
