Montreal Impact and Homegrown forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel have agreed to a one year contract with an option for a second year, the club announced Monday.

Jackson-Hamel, 26, has appeared in 72 MLS matches (25 starts) over the last six seasons, scoring 15 goals. He helped lead the Impact to the 2019 Canadian Championship. He has nine appearances for the Canadian national team, with three goals and two assists.

“We are happy that Anthony, a Homegrown player who has already played many seasons in MLS, is back with the Impact,” sporting director Olivier Renard said in a club statement. “We had good talks with him and he accepts the project we proposed. He knows what to do so that this new deal is beneficial for both himself and the club."

He signed his first contract with the club in 2014.

Jackson-Hamel will get the chance to work under one of his generation's greatest forwards as new Impact boss Thierry Henry awaits his MLS coaching debut. The club will kick off their 2020 season in the Concacaf Champions League, which will start in mid-February.
