Toronto FC will travel to face Seattle Sounders in 2019 MLS Cup after winning Eastern Conference Final

Toronto FC - Alejandro Pozuelo

We've got ourselves a MLS Cup 2019 matchup, and a familiar one at that.

Toronto FC stunned Atlanta United with a 2-1 win in the Eastern Conference Final of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night, setting up another rematch with the Seattle Sounders on Nov. 10 (3 pm ET | ABC, Univision, TSN, TVAS). It will be the third time in four years that TFC and the Sounders face off for the Phillip F. Anschutz Trophy, but the first time they will meet in Seattle. It will be the second MLS Cup to be held in the Emerald City, which was also a venue for Real Salt Lake's shootout victory over the LA Galaxy in MLS Cup 2009, in the era when the championship was held at a neutral site.

This year's game will very much be a grudge match, given that the Sounders took home the title in 2016, winning on PKs after a scoreless draw at BMO Field, only for the Reds to get their revenge a year later with a 2-0 victory.

Toronto were the No. 4 seed in the East, defeating D.C. United 5-1 in an extratime thriller in Round One before hitting the road, where they toppled No. 1 seed New York City FC 2-1 in the Conference Semifinal before knocking off Atlanta on Wednesday evening. Their road success echoes Seattle's heroic performance on Tuesday evening, when they ended No. 1 seed LAFC's record-setting season with a 3-1 victory.
